Winning together

It’s time for a change.

We’ll have to work together to win here, but it’s so important that we do.

It doesn’t matter what your reason is for wanting change. Maybe it’s because the Tories are raining back on their climate pledges… is it because they have trashed the economy and they have no ideas to rescue it… it is because of the shameful way they have treated NHS workers… Or the way they take teachers for granted… or the corruption and cronyism…

The list goes on. It’s time for change, and we can be a part of that change here in Godalming and Ash.

The constituency of Godalming and Ash is a new one including (as you may have guessed) Godalming and Ash as well as lots of neighbouring villages (Elstead, Chiddingfold, Cranleigh, Shere and Shalford and all in between).

Being a new constituency means that everything is possible. But we need to work together to win.

Current polling suggests that with just 36% of the vote, the Conservatives could still win here at the next election. This is because:

1. Our undemocratic First-Past-The-Post election system allows people without a majority to be elected.

2. The fact that Lib Debs, Labour and Green candidates take votes off each other.

We can’t do anything about the first of these (yet!). But we can do something about the second – that’s why we’re here.

When the next election is called we can’t afford for the progressive candidates to take votes off each other, leading to Jeremy Hunt being returned to prop up an ever more right-wing Tory party.

We are going to work together, to support a progressive candidate that shares our values and has the best chance of winning.

TOGETHER WE CAN WIN!

We’re going to share this goal with everyone we can, we’re going to show how we can win and, when the election is called, we’re going to be ready to get behind the candidate with the best chance to winning.
